The Simple Woman’s Daybook for November 28, 2016

For Today

simple-woman-daybook-large

Looking out my window…dark and wet
I am thinking…about whether to open my new planner when it comes tomorrow or wait until Christmas (yeah, I buy myself Christmas gifts 😛 ).
I am thankful…for our new dryer which arrived this morning. I guess if your dryer is going to stop working, Black Friday is a good day to do it. 😀
One of my favorite things…finishing books, especially ones that have been on my currently-reading pile too long!
I am creating…shh, it’s Christmas. 😉
I am wearing…pink sweater, khaki pants
I read…A Praying Life by Paul E. Miller – finally finished today!
I am hoping…to conquer the mountain of laundry-to-be-folded tonight.
I am learning…about the reign of Queen Anne and Marlborough in The Age of Revolution – it’s the Treaty of Utrecht this week.
In my kitchen…this on Saturday:

In the school room…we read Christmas in Noisy Village from our Christmas picture book basket today.
In my garden…(well, yard) Mr. D made another dent in the leaves on Saturday. 🙂
Post Script
Charlotte Mason fans, make sure you read Brandy’s excellent post: Would an educational philosophy by any other name smell as sweet?

“When we look at our life through the lens of Scripture, we seldom lose our way. We can be real, but we don’t get lost in our feelings.” Paul E. Miller, A Praying Life

A moment from my day…enjoying the nativity scene my daughter made for made me last Christmas…

  1. What a lovely Nativity set your daughter made for you — I made a felt Advent Calendar for my young nephews one year (many year ago now) and it was the most fun to stitch up little stars and bells and trees, along with a little picture of a Nativity scene. Your daughter must have been pleased with her result.

I enjoyed the peek into your daybook … here’s wishing you a beautiful week ahead with many glimpses of heaven in unexpected places.

    Brenda
