The Simple Woman’s Daybook for November 7, 2016

For Today

simple-woman-daybook-large

Looking out my window…a waxing moon – supposed to be a “supermoon” when it’s full!
I am thinking…about which books to read/finish reading before the end of the year – I need eight more to reach my goal of 52!
I am thankful…for a hubby who sometimes takes all the kids so I can have some quiet!
One of my favorite things…

I am creating…a huge pile of clean laundry to be folded. 😉
I am wearing…tee, sweater, jeans
I am watching…Get Smart with hubby and Miss A – I remember watching the TV Land re-runs way back when he was in grad school and she was a tiny baby, but of course she doesn’t remember. 😉 Lots of laughs!
I am hoping…piano lessons on Wednesday go well – a new teacher for D and E!
I am learning…about The Art of Homeschooling – Mystie’s new course (affiliate link, which means I receive a commission from any sales at no extra cost to you). She also has a free homeschool mini-workshop.
In my kitchen…sausage pasta for supper.
In the school room…we started learning about orchestration from Leonard Bernstein today. Interesting fact: he had synesthesia  and saw colors when he heard music. Not too surprising to me, though, because I know several gifted musicians who also have it. 🙂
In my garden…well, yard – this was Saturday, and there’s still lots of leaves to be gathered…

Post Script
Miss A entered and won a micro fiction contest, and I thought her story was just lovely (not that I’m biased or anything 😉 )

  1. It’s really so much fun for children to help parents in their everyday work, especially if it is outdoor 🙂

Great photos — loved the garden pic with your little ones as well as that awesome sunset. Beautiful quote too.
