The Simple Woman’s Daybook for Valentine’s Day 2022

For Today
Looking out my window…dark and cold
I am thinking…about what to write and all the other things I need to do. 😉
I am thankful…that after a painful break-up this spring, this young man came into her life, and now they are engaged and starting their own business!

One of my favorite things…hearing this little fellow giggle while he reads. He hates his new glasses, but he looks awfully cute. 😉
I am creating…more knitted dishcloths!
I am wearing…plaid shirt and jeans.
I am reading…Chesterton – I started this one today and may try to fit him into several of my reading categories this year.
I am hoping…to get a good amount of reading/audiobooks in this week.
I am learning…about Marxist philosophy and how to confront it in the Scholé Sisters Excellent Marxmanship class (for Sophie members of the Sistership).
In my kitchen…bratwurst and pesto pasta tonight – yum.
In the school room…a few more days to go and then break week!
Post Script
Two fun recent podcast episodes: my friend Dawn Garrett on The New Mason Jar, and the 100th episode of the Scholé Sisters podcast (I was disappointed that I already owned all the books they mentioned until the end – another Pieper book is coming tomorrow!)
Shared Quote
“Authentic love turns us away from ourselves and toward the Other. It’s ordered to truth; the truth about human beings, human nature, and Creation. It’s demanding and self-denying. It anchors us to realities that are deeply human, deeply rewarding, and the deepest sources of joy – but also inconvenient and easily seen as burdens. Charles Chaput, Things Worth Dying For
A moment from my day…they’re adorable. ♥ And he totally spoiled her today: flowers, chocolate, a movie, a delicious meal cooked by his talented older brother, and a huge teddy bear!
Closing Notes
Happy Valentine’s Day!
