31 Days of Great Reads – Rilla of Ingleside by L.M. Montgomery

During the month of October, I’m posting brief reviews of some of my favorite books from the past couple of years: those that really touched my heart, gave me a new perspective, taught me something, or were just plain fun. Hopefully you will be inspired to add something to your to-read list. 🙂

I think Rilla of Ingleside is my favorite of the books by L.M. Montgomery I’ve read so far. This is my review from 2012:
This was a reread for me, and I seemed to get a lot more out of it. As a teenager, I was mostly interested in the love story, but this time I really appreciated seeing Rilla grow and mature through the trials and heartaches the Great War brings. I actually understood a lot more of the references to battles and such as well, which probably helped. And I still liked the mushy parts. 🙂
