31 Days of Great Reads – The Red House Mystery by A.A. Milne

During the month of October, I’m posting brief reviews of some of my favorite books from the past couple of years: those that really touched my heart, gave me a new perspective, taught me something, or were just plain fun. Hopefully you will be inspired to add something to your to-read list. 🙂

It’s embarrassing, while writing these posts, to realize how much I’ve forgotten about books I read just a year or two ago. I was intrigued when The Red House Mystery was recommended to me on Goodreads, because I had no idea A.A. Milne had written a mystery story! I do remember it was an interesting, if somewhat stereotypical plot, with secret passageways, nighttime vigils, an amateur Holmes and Watson duo, etc. But I’m fuzzy when it comes to the various characters and the actual outcome (you wouldn’t want me to tell you about that anyway 😉 ). Oh well, I guess that means I can enjoy it again sometime!
