31 Days of Tackling the To-Do List: Roman Shade

Since moving here, we have been slowly phasing out the mini blinds with roller or Roman shades, curtains/drapes or better quality blinds. In the new dining area, I decided to turn the mini blind into a Roman shade, using a toile fabric I found at Fabric.com. I was happy to find it was the kind mounted from behind, as that is the easiest to work with. There are several tutorials on how to do this – I referred to the one at Involving Home. It was a fairly easy project, done on Saturday afternoon and evening in between other things, and left to dry overnight. I’m pleased with how it turned out. 🙂 It does look prettier with the shade down a bit, but as it’s a north-facing window, I will probably keep the shade up all the way to let the most light in.
