5 About 5

Inspired by this post at Amongst Lovely Things, I decided to list five things about each of my children as they are right now.

Miss A

  1. Does her independent work well and usually in a timely manner.
  2. Loves to write – she finished a  90-page story last week (which I need to finish reading…)!
  3. Lives in “creative chaos” – in other words her room is a bit of a mess. 😉
  4. Would rather hang out with the adults in a group, which I understand, but encourage her to spend time with the kids as well. She’s in that in-between stage.
  5. Makes some pretty neat stuff with her Rainbow Loom and felt collection.
Mr. D

  1. Favorite thing to do (besides play Minecraft) is to play (by ear!) the music from the WALL-E movie, Mario games or whatever other music he’s hearing in his head. Unfortunately he can also play that very annoying song from The Lego Movie…
  2. Narrates with vigor from the Bible, Robinson Crusoe and any book that captures his imagination.
  3. Loves to swing.
  4. Quite friendly and talkative with other kids and adults – maybe too friendly sometimes. But being shy and introverted myself, I’m probably not the best judge. 😉
  5. Dreams big.
Mr. E

  1. Is very motivated to get his work done ASAP in the morning, even before mommy has finished breakfast…
  2. Loves the little desk we brought back from my parents’ place, one my dad salvaged from a school when I was a girl!
  3. Currently lives for soccer – always counting down the days until the next game or practice.
  4. Likes to tease his siblings, which can be a problem…
  5. Very affectionate – must always give me a good-night kiss. :)

Mr. L

  1. Wants to do everything himself, which can be very frustrating when you forget and do it for him, are in a hurry, or he isn’t able to do it.
  2. Loves watching Wild Kratts.
  3. Has a bad habit of dropping things in the frog’s tank.
  4. Listens to Animals, Animals or Jim Weiss during quiet (um, make that not-so-quiet) time. The same ones over and over…
  5. Has the cutest little three-year-old voice and the silliest smile. 🙂
Mr. R

  1. Climbs on everything, including the kitchen table. That monster shirt he’s wearing above is very appropriate!
  2. Says Ha (Hi), Da (Dad), Uh-oh, drink (hubby claims – I haven’t heard it).
  3. Loves lift-the-flap books, especially Where’s Spot. Giggles adorably when I make the different animal sounds. 🙂
  4. Is a very messy eater. When he’s done, he starts squashing his food and sweeping it onto the floor.
  5. Still nursing and still not sleeping through the night (but better than he was).
