This passage from Canto II of Fierce Wars and Faithful Loves (Book I of Edmund Spenser’s The Faerie Queene, updated and annotated by Roy Maynard) stood out to me, probably because I have such a hard time following its advice. 🙁
He oft finds medicine, who his grief imparts;
But double griefs afflict concealing hearts,
As raging flames who striveth to suppress.”
Gasp! I just discovered Book III is available now: The Warrior Princess! Guess what I just ordered? 😀 (Wonder why Maynard skipped over Book II??)
