The Simple Woman’s Daybook for January 22, 2018

For Today

Looking out my window…it’s breezy and warm (for January) – lovely weather for an evening walk around the neighborhood.
I am thinking…that’s such a tough question to answer – so many things!
I am thankful…everyone seems to be healthy – for now. It’s a been a rough winter for sickness, and we’re only officially a month in. :/
One of my favorite things…cleaning out clutter – at least the way it looks and feels when it’s done. πŸ˜‰
I am creating…plans – happy plans. πŸ™‚
I am wearing…purple tee and sweater, sweatpants.
I am watching…the new season of Victoria.
I am hoping…to finish another book tomorrow.
I am learning…about the Mexican-American war and westward expansion. It’s interesting to compare Churchill’s and Foster’s accounts.
In my kitchen…spaghetti and meatballs for supper.
In the school room…Mr. L is doing well with Ray’s Arithmetic – taking it slow, doing it all orally with manipulatives for the word problems – almost ready to move on to subtraction.
In my garden…mud – snow has all melted.
Post Script…a good reminder from Karen: Reading Isn’t Just for the Rich

Shared Quote…this was certainly true of our road trip last year…

Traveling is hard work. Everything is ALWAYS strange; staying home IS much easier; but this you do for inspiration, for challenge, for beauty, for growth, but most of all, for the memories. Susan Branch, A Fine Romance
A moment from my day…I’ve been getting a break from bedtime stories this month. β™₯
Closing Notes
A beautiful post from Brandy: Giving the Hours a Soul. Makes me want to go read Coleridge. πŸ™‚
