The Simple Woman’s Daybook: Wedding Edition

For Today
Looking out my window…it may rain before I’m done this, but currently I’m sitting outside.
I am thinking…about the beautiful wedding on Saturday. Aria and David are married! ♥
I am thankful…for so much help from family and friends.
One of my favorite things…this photo captured by my sister of the priest crowning Aria during the Orthodox ceremony (David is Orthodox). It was very different than I’m used to but very beautiful and meaningful, and this was my favorite part. 🙂
I am creating…hmm…a blog post?
I am wearing…comfy clothes!
I am listening to…Bono’s new memoir, Surrender. Some of the language and anecdotes are off-color, but it’s interesting despite the fact that I didn’t listen to U2 until I read about them in 75 Masterpieces Every Christian Should Know last year.
I am hoping…to have a restful week. 😉
I am learning…about Christian friendship.
In my kitchen…wedding leftovers (City Barbeque).
In the school room…some of the boys are doing a bit, but nothing with the youngest.
In my garden…well, yard – baby oak leaves are so cute (and soft!)
Post Script
Here’s a lovely rendition of the hymn that Aria came down the aisle to:

Shared Quote
Love (2) by George Herbert
Immortal Heat, O let thy greater flame
Attract the lesser to it: let those fires,
Which shall consume the world, first make it tame;
And kindle in our hearts such true desires,
As may consume our lusts, and make thee way.
Then shall our hearts pant thee; then shall our brain
All her invention on thine Altar lay,
And there in hymns send back thy fire again:
Our eyes shall see thee, which before saw dust:
Dust blown by wit, till that they both were blind:
Thou shalt recover all thy goods in kind,
Who wert disseisèd by usurping lust:
All knees shall bow to thee; all wits shall rise,
And praise him who did make and mend our eyes.
A moment from my day…I’ll just share more photos from Saturday 😉
Closing Notes
Happy Spiring! May is my favorite. 🙂

  1. Thanks for sharing these beautiful pictures, Anna! Aria is a beautiful bride and her dress is so lovely. The cake is beautiful, too! May God bless their marriage always.
