I’m slowly catching up to Miss A in Fierce Wars and Faithful Loves, which is Book 1 of Edmund Spenser’s The Faerie Queene. It’s amazing. A couple of my favorite parts: the description of the Seven Deadly Sins in Canto IV, and the conversation between Una and Prince Arthur in Canto VII. And then there’s the first few lines of Canto VIII that caught my eye:
