5 Christmas Gift Ideas

Christmas2I do most of my Christmas shopping online, although I am looking forward to my annual trip to World Market for Advent calendar fillers tomorrow. Hopefully, there’s still a good selection of chocolates and candies after all the Black Friday shoppers. 😉 Packages have begun arriving, and I thought I would share a few of the things that will be in stockings or under the tree this Christmas.

  1. The Private Eye program has intrigued me for some time now, and I bought a used copy of the book earlier this month. The required observational tool – a jeweler’s loupe – can be purchased on Amazon or elsewhere, but I decided to buy the loupe-on-a-lanyard rainbow pack from their online store as stocking stuffers for the kids and I. It should be a fun addition to nature study. 🙂
  2. Perplexus ball mazes were a big hit last Christmas (thanks, Mom and Dad!), so when I saw this Star Wars version, I knew I had to get it for hubby (who was, as usual, saying there wasn’t really anything he wanted). He’ll have to share, though. 😀
  3. We have many puzzles and toys that the kids can play with during our afternoon quiet time, but I’ve been on the lookout for some single-player games to add to the mix. This Christmas, Mr. E will be getting Brain Fitness Solitaire Chess in the hopes that it might interest him in some chess matches with his dad and older brother. Mr. L will be getting Three Little Piggies Smart Game, in which the object is to keep the piggies away from the big bad wolf.
  4. I bought this one for myself. 😉 The Moleskine I’ve used for my bullet journal has been OK, but I want to start fresh in 2016 with a dotted grid layout (instead of lines). I decided on a bright pink Leuchtturm1917, which has two bookmarks, index pages, numbered pages (I dislike numbering the pages myself), and is a bit wider than the Moleskine but can still fit in my purse. Looking forward to being a bit more creative (and consistent) with my journal in the new year!
  5. Last year, I gave some Third Day Naturals products (affiliate link, which means I receive a commission on sales purchased through the link at no extra cost to you) to some of my family, and plan to again this year. They currently have a 15% off Holiday Sale on all orders. I love that they are a family business and use natural ingredients in their products!
