31 Days of Tackling the To-Do List: Homeschool Room, Part 4

A post about a map might be a bit silly, but it’s my favorite thing about this room, and it took quite a bit of work to put up! It is a huge (over 9′ long) National Geographic map which I found on Zulily probably a couple of years ago now. However, hubby and I could not make up our minds on how and where to put it (he did not want to attach it like wallpaper, which was how it was intended to be used). But now I’m glad we waited, because it’s perfect here!

We decided to attach the map with Command Poster adhesive strips – it remains to be seen how they will hold up. It came in three pieces, and when we went to hang it, we discovered that there was some overlap, which meant poor hubby had the frustrating job of trying to line everything up, while I wore my arm out holding up the other side. We tried to get everything straight, but the upper left hand corner didn’t quite align with the ceiling. It still looks great, though, and really brightens up the room. And of course it will be very handy for geography lessons. 😉

    • Ha! Well, I don’t remember Mom and Dad’s map coming to mind, but maybe it was in my subconscious somewhere. 😀
